Micah’s research explores the intersections of fathering, identity development, and educational pathways, with a particular focus on the experiences of Black males in Counselor Education and Supervision (CES). His publications on success pathways for Black men in CES illuminate the relational, cultural, and structural supports that foster persistence, professional identity development, and academic thriving.

His doctoral work extends into the study of fathering and education, examining how fathers—especially those in relational and academic professions—make meaning of their roles and cultivate emotionally attuned, developmentally supportive relationships with their children. Across his scholarship, Micah is committed to advancing research that uplifts Black male experiences, strengthens fathering practices, and deepens understanding of how identity and education shape the lives of men in helping professions.
